A new study found that massage really does work to ease those sore muscles after a tough workout. Just 10 minutes can reduce inflammation, which can help your body recover. However, the health benefits of touch extend beyond simply soothing aches and pains. Of course, the stressed-out have been proponents of the anxiety-busting procedure for decades. But a growing body of research suggests that a rubdown is even better for you than you think.
Massage is able to assist and alleviate with the following:
Alleviate low-back pain and improve range of motion,
Ease medication dependence,
Enhance immunity by stimulating lymph flow - the body's natural defense system,
Exercise and stretch weak, tight, or atrophied muscles,
Help athletes of any level prepare for, and recover from, strenuous workouts,
Improve the condition of the body's largest organ—the skin,
Increase joint flexibility,
Lessen depression and anxiety,
Promote tissue regeneration, reducing scar tissue and stretch marks,
Pump oxygen and nutrients into tissues and vital organs, improving circulation,
Reduce spasms and cramping,
Relax and soften injured, tired, and overused muscles,
Release endorphins - amino acids that work as the body's natural painkiller,
Relieve migraine pain.
Massage is not a good idea if you have a fever, infections, inflammation, osteoporosis and other medical conditions. If you have any questions about whether a massage would be the correct treatment therapy for you, speak to the massage therapist before making your appointment.
NUDITY AND MASSAGE
Full body massage techniques utilise connecting long flowing movements over the entire length of the body, the client should feel at ease with being naked or underwear client is covered with a towel at all times . However this is entirely up to the client. If possible take a warm bath or shower before your appointment. Apart from reasons of hygiene, this will relax the muscles and help you feel more receptive to the massage therapy being performed.
TREATMENT TIME
A sixty minute massage is a great introduction to my style of massage, however I feel that a sixty minute massage might feel a bit rushed. Often there is not enough time to be sure to include all the desired techniques. I much prefer to give a full ninety minute massage. Ultimately the decision is up to you.
